Ghana and Leicester City forward Jordan Ayew has commented on his performance in a friendly game as the Foxes ramp up their activity in pre-season.
Speaking in an interview with Leicester City media after bagging the only goal in the Foxes 1-0 win over Hungarian side Zalaegerzegi, the Black Stars deputy captain called on his team to take more initiative particularly in front of goal.
The veteran striker danced through a handful of defenders before firing the ball into the net for the winner in a game that had fellow Ghanaian Abdul Fatawu Issahaku return to action after being out injured since November 2024 to an ACL injury.
“Sometimes as a striker you need to force your way through and that’s what I tried to do. I feel like we don’t sometimes take enough initiative. We sometimes play it around the box, but we need to shoot more. Luckily for me today it went in. I’m always confident and positive as a player and as a person” Jordan Ayew said.

“We’ll keep on working and pushing ourselves hard. The season is only around the corner now, so we need to make sure we are ready for it” Ayew added. Scroll down to watch Jordan Ayew’s goal.
