Jordan Ayew sends support as Black Queens chase historic WAFCON final Spot

Ghana captain Jordan Ayew has shown support to the national women’s team the Black Queens as they gear up for a crucial challenge at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

In a message Graphic shared on the Black Queens’ official Facebook page,the Leicester City striker delivered a rallying call to the team ahead of their semifinal showdown against tournament hosts Morocco, scheduled for Monday, July 22 at 19:00 GMT, urging them to stay focused and united at this critical stage.

“To my sisters, the Black Queens! I’m beyond proud of the way you’ve represented Ghana on the biggest stage. Your determination, skill, and teamwork are an inspiration to us all,” Ayew said.

The captain emphasized the magnitude of the occasion, knowing that facing Morocco on home soil presents unique challenges for the Queens.

“As you prepare to take on Morocco in the semifinals, I want you to know that the entire Ghanaian football family is behind you,” he continued.

“We’re rooting for you and we believe in your ability to make history. Go out there, give it your all, and make Ghana proud! Let’s do this, Queens!”

This marks Ghana’s first appearance in the semifinals of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations since 2016, ending a nine-year wait for a place among the tournament’s final four.
