CEO of Hasaacas Ladies Football Club, Evelyn Nsiah Asare Owusu, says the Ghana Football Association (GFA) didn’t do anything wrong by letting former Black Queens head coach Nora Hauptle leave.
Despite being a very popular figure in Ghana’s football circles after leading Ghana’s National Women’s Football Team to qualify to the 2024 AFCON after missing out on competing in the previous edition prior to her arrival, Hauptle left in an acrimonious fashion after reported talks on a new deal broke down.
Hauptle joined Zambia only for the pre-tournament favourites to exit at the quarterfinal stage after suffering a heavy 5-0 loss to Nigeria in the aforementioned competition while Ghana made it to the semifinals and will battle for the bronze medal against South Africa on Friday, July 25 at 19:00 GMT Copper Queens.
Speaking on Channel One TV’s Football Made in Ghana, the veteran football administrator indicated that she had no issue with the GFA regarding Hauptle’s departure considering the results either team has chalked at the 2024 CAF Women’s AFCON.

“From what we have seen, it is good she left; there is no problem. They [the GFA] didn’t do anything wrong. I mean what did she do with Zambia? Look at the team she went to meet; they were doing well…they had a team. She went there and she was not able to qualify them to the semifinals and we are there. She is gone; let us build from what we have” Nsiah Asare Owusu said.
