Toulouse Football Club Sporting Director Viktor Bezhani has described Francis Abu’s profile as a player as ideal to compete in the French Ligue 1.
He said this after the club completed the signing of the Ghana international midfielder on a four year deal from Belgian Jupiler Pro League side Cercle Brugge earlier this week.
By joining Toulouse, 24 year old Abu has made the latest move in his career after starring at Danish club FC Nordsjaelland following his graduation from the Right To Dream Academy in Ghana.
Abu recently competed for Ghana’s National Men’s Football Team, the Black Stars, in the Unity Cup and after capturing his signature, Toulouse’s Sporting Director believes the new signing has the right profile to meet the demands of the Ligue 1.
“He is a very versatile midfielder, aggressive defensively while being able to dictate the tempo of the match offensively. Physically, his box-to-box profile is ideal for a championship as competitive and demanding as Ligue 1” he said.

In the 2024-2025 season, Francis Abu registered a goal and four assists in 49 games in all competitions for Cercle Brugge.
