Samed fell out at Lens after Haise’s exit and played out the 2024-2025 season with AFC Sunderland and helped the Black Cats to gain promotion to the English Premier League.
Speaking after making Salis Samed’s move official, Nice’s Sporting Director talked about the qualities of the 25 year old stating,
“We were looking for dynamism, impact and good energy in midfield.”

“Salis is a balanced player, with a slightly more defensive profile than his direct competitors. He is fully committed on the pitch, has a real personality, and his knowledge of Ligue 1 and his personality will contribute positively to communication and the dynamic in the dressing room.”

OGC Nice open their 2025-2026 campaign on Saturday, August 16 against Toulouse FC at 19:05 GMT.
