Trio of former Ghana League Champions confirm participation in Nsenkyire Cup

A trio of former Ghana Premier League Champions has confirmed its participation in the upcoming Nsenkyire Cup that is set to take place at the Nsenkyire Stadium in Sambreboi.

Aduana Stars, FC Samartex 1996 and Medeama Sporting Club have been named among the six teams participating in this year’s edition of the pre-season competition.

Samartex won the Ghana League title in the 2023-2024 season while Meadeama won the top flight division title in the 2022-2023 season.

Beyond Aduana and Medeama and host team Samartex, Basake Holy Stars, Nations FC and Dreams Football Club will participate in the tournament that runs from Thursday, August 28 to Sunday, August 31.

Samartex, Aduana and Basake have been grouped in Group A while Nations FC, Medeama and Dreams FC have been drawn in Group B.

Medeama recently played in Cote D’Ivoire’s against the likes of FC Mouna and Entente Sportive Bafing. Host team Samartex will play against Nations and Aduana in Week 3 and Week 4 of the 2025-2026 Ghana League season.
