Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has spoken extensively about his emotional state in the face of major adversity at the club.
The Red Devils are winless two games into the 2025-2026 English Premier League season and just crashed out of the second round of the Carabao Cup.
Man United lost 12-11 on penalties to English League Two side Grimsby Town in the Carabao Cup in an abysmal display particularly in the first half that had the Red Devils trail 2-0 at half time.
Speaking in a press conference ahead of Man United’s league game against Burnley on Saturday, August 30 at 14:00 GMT, the Portuguese coach delivered a wild statement regarding his emotions at a challenging time at the club.
“To be really honest, every time that we have a defeat like that in the future I’m going to be like that. I’m going to say sometimes I hate my players and sometimes I love my players.”

“Sometimes I want to quit, sometimes I want to be here for 20 years. I need to improve on that, it’s going to be hard but now I’m focused on the next game” Amorim said.

Burnley have a win and a loss since returning to the league.
