Former Black Stars captain Stephen Appiah has stated emphatically that Ghana’s National Men’s Football Team, the Black Stars, are ready to compete in the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Mali.

Ghana takes on Chad in N’Djamena on Thursday, September 4 before taking on Mali at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday, September 8.

Ghana lead the standings in Group I standings with 15 points from six games on the back of winning five games and wins over Chad and Mali would all but seal the Black Stars place in next year’s World Cup.

The upcoming World Cup will be hosted in the US, Canada and Mexico and Appiah believes that the team is ready to compete in the latest qualifiers after witnessing the team’s first training session on Monday, September 1.
