Chelsea Football Club commenced their return to the UEFA Champions League with a loss to Bayern Munich in Germany.
The Blues lost 3-1 to Bayern at the Allianz Arena with a misplaced pass leading to Harry Kane’s game sealing goal in the second half at a time Chelsea trailed 2-1.
Reflecting on the loss after the game, Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca was unhappy about how things turned out for his team particularly after conceding the third goal he described as one the team could have avoided.
“Overall the performance was quite good. We started well for 20 minutes and created two or three chances. When we conceded a goal we could have avoided the game changed a bit. We were in the game until the end. With the penalty, the [non] red card, an own goal it becomes difficult” Maresca said as quoted by the BBC.

Days after conceding an equalizer to Brentford in the 95th minute to draw 2-2 in the English Premier League, the Blues missed out on a win ahead of a crucial league tie against Man United on Saturday, at 16:30 GMT.
