JS Kabylie head coach Josef Zinnebauer described his team’s 2-0 win over Bibiani Gold Stars in the first of a two legged tie in the CAF Champions League preliminary round as a difficult one mainly due to the state of the pitch at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Algeria side Kabylie picked up the big win on Saturday, September 20 at the Accra Stadium in what is Gold Stars’ debut campaign in the premier African club football competition.
After admitting his players were jittery at some point in the game, Gold Stars head coach blamed his team’s high rate of mistakes as a major reason for the loss. (Click highlighted text to read story)
However, for Zinnbauer, the win wasn’t an easy one because of the state of the Accra Stadium pitch and weather conditions.
“It was a difficult game for us especially the field; our players normally they use another field it’s not easy and also the weather, it’s not easy to play.”

“You can feel it in terms of the conditioning in terms of the ball possession but for us it was important the result compliments our team. We won and that’s important for us” Zinnbauer said.
