Eberechi Eze has described his debut goal as special while reflecting on Arsenal’s 2-0 win over Port Vale in the Carabao Cup.

Eze scored the first of two goals for the Gunners to register his first for the London club following his move from Crystal Palace.

Leandro Trossard came off the bench to score Arsenal’s second in the 86th minute at Vale Park and Eze spoke about how delighted he was to get off the mark.

“It’s a special day to get my first goal and to win. It’s important to get through to the next round; that was the main thing. But it’s a special day for me. Fortunate, and a lot of hard work behind it, but it’s a good day.”

“Coming to a place like this, away from home, in difficult circumstances, but finding a way to win, that’s the most important thing. You take it into the next one” Eze said.
