Ghana’s representative at the 2025 FISU (International University Sports Federation) University Games football competition, University of Development Studies (UDS), have qualified to compete in the final.
UDS beat University of Granada 5-4 on penalties to progress to the finals of the football competition that is taking place in Dalian, China after their tough contest ended in a goalless draw. Granada beat University of Split from Croatia in the quarterfinals.
UDS will take on Brazil’s Paulista University on Sunday, September 28 at 15:30 GMT after Paulista University beat Morocco’s Chouaib Doukalli 5-3 on penalties after their entertaining game ended 3-3.
En route to the finals, the University of Development Studies beat South Korea’s Kyungli University 5-2 in the quarterfinals.
The team had recorded big results in the group stage including a 2-1 win over the University of Sharjah from the United Arab Emirates and a 4-1 win over Spain’s Llull University.
