A day short of celebrating the fifth year of his debut game for Ghana’s National Men’s Football Team, the Black Stars, Kamaldeen Sulemana, has scored his first goal for the Black Stars.

The Atalanta winger scored in Ghana’s 5-0 win over Central African Republic (C.A.R.) in Morocco in its penultimate 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier to all but qualify to next year’s World Cup in the US, Mexico and Canada.

Sulemana slotted the ball into the net at the back post after getting set up brilliantly by fellow substitute Joseph Paintsil in the 87th minute.

Kamaldeen stepped on the field in the 76th minute to replace Abdul Fatawu Issahaku.

The former Southampton winger made his Black Stars debut on October 9, 2020 and in the company of Mohammed Kudus and Issahaku, Kamaldeen shared what his debut Black Stars goal means to him.

“Alhamdulillah. I appreciate [Joseph] Paintsil very much he set me that ball. I have been waiting for so long… and this is my first goal; it means a lot to me. Insha Allah more to come” Kamaldeen Sulemana said.
