Veteran Ghanaian coach Joseph Emmanuel Sarpong has revealed fresh details about his abrupt resignation from Techiman Eleven Wonders, saying management completely abandoned the team during his 20-day spell in charge.

This forms part of the larger issues he earlier disclosed ;  including players going hungry for three days and poor motivation  which led to his decision to walk away from the newly promoted Ghana Premier League side.

Speaking exclusively to Channel One Sports, Sarpong said the club’s leadership showed no interest in the team’s welfare or performance.

Management didn’t speak to me. For two weeks, I didn’t hear anybody’s voice. Nobody spoke with me and as a management member, you must know what is going on. Call the coach: ‘What are the problems? How do we solve them?’ None of them did that.

He added that no management member was present at the training grounds throughout his short tenure.

Even at the training grounds, there was no management member, they were all outside. That alone made me annoyed and angry

Coach Sarpong also criticized the current administrators who previously owned Legon Cities  for repeating the same structural failures that cost their former club a place in the Premier League.

They were with Legon Cities, you remember? And they went on relegation. They are repeating the same mistake, they should have learned something from it, but they have not.

With Sarpong’s departure adding to an already turbulent start to the season, Eleven Wonders now face a crucial period as they search for a new head coach capable of stabilizing the team.
