Jason Ayto, Brighton and Hove Albion Sporting Director, has confirmed that Ghana winger Ibrahim Osman has joined EFL Championship side Birmingham City FC on loan.
Osman, who is on the books of Brighton and Hove, joined French Ligue 1 side AJ Auxerre on loan prior to the start of the 2025-2026 season. Birmingham City rank 13th in the 24 league standings at the time of writing.
However, after making just 15 appearances for Auxerre including 14 in the league, Osman rejoined Brighton before getting sent out on loan to Birmingham City.
Speaking after confirming the transfer, Jason Ayto, had a strong belief that the move will be beneficial to the development of the 21 year old.
“This is a good opportunity for Ibrahim to continue his development back here in England after a six-month spell in the French league.”

“It means Ibrahim will continue playing regular football, and Birmingham City will provide another good environment. We will be monitoring his progress and wish him well for the second half of the season” Ayto said to Brighton media.

Osman is regarded as one of the best young Ghanaian players who has been in and out of the Black Stars in recent years. Osman has also played for Feyenoord since leaving FC Nordsjaelland.
