SP Sport Promotions and PKO Boxing seal long-term partnership ahead of Koforidua Fight Night

SP Sport Promotions and PKO Boxing Promotions have formalised a long-term co-promotional and boxing management partnership, a move aimed at strengthening structured athlete development and elevating the professional boxing landscape in Ghana.

The agreement, concluded following extensive engagements between both organisations, establishes a collaborative framework for the promotion, management, and career progression of boxers. It is designed to provide a clear pathway from talent identification through to sustained professional growth, anchored on shared values of discipline, athlete welfare, and long-term planning.

Under the partnership, PKO Boxing’s management philosophy will be aligned with SP Sport Promotions’ promotional operations, ensuring consistency in standards across training, matchmaking, branding, and career development.

While both entities retain the capacity to stage independent events, joint promotions and coordinated strategy will form the backbone of the collaboration.

The partnership will be officially unveiled at the upcoming Fight Night scheduled for Saturday, March 7, 2026, at the Koforidua Total 2 venue. Organised in collaboration with T2 Bar and Grill, the event will feature a full professional card showcasing fighters from both stables and serve as the first public expression of the alliance.

The Fight Night card will feature a blend of emerging prospects and battle-tested professionals from both stables, reflecting the developmental focus of the new partnership. Fans in Koforidua can expect competitive match-ups carefully selected to test progress rather than protect records, with young fighters given the platform to announce themselves on a bigger stage.

Several of the billed boxers enter the night on upward trajectories, eager to stake claims for future headline bouts. The card is designed to balance entertainment with purpose, offering action for supporters while advancing the long-term careers of the athletes involved under the SP–PKO banner.

Three of Ghana’s most promising fighters under PKO; Prince Kamaldeen, Ebenezer Kolebe and Benedict Baidoo will be in action. Additionally, John Eshun will fight in an exhibition bout.

Beyond the launch event, plans are already in motion for the introduction of the PKO–SP Boxing Series, a travelling fight platform expected to tour multiple regions across Ghana before expanding into other African markets. The initiative is intended to decentralise boxing activity, bring the sport closer to local communities, and broaden its national footprint.

The partnership signals a strategic step forward for both promotions, positioning them for sustained growth, stronger athlete pipelines, and increased relevance on the continental and international boxing stage.
