Tottenham Hotspurs defender Micky Van De Ven has rubbished the claim that Spurs players don’t care about the dire situation of the club.
He delivered this dismissive response to such narrative in a presser ahead of Tottenham’s UEFA Champions League second leg tie at the round of 16 stage against Atletico Madrid of Spain in London on Wednesday, March 18.
Atletico hold a 5-2 aggregate lead from the first leg and have a big advantage to qualify to the quarterfinals while Spurs’ could further worsen should they get kicked out as the club ranks 16th in the EPL standings.
Speaking at a pre-game presser, Van De Ven was confident the players attitude was a positive one and not the one circulated in the media.
“It’s the biggest nonsense. Trust me – those involved on the pitch, the staff and the players – they care so much about the situation we are in right now.”

“People are just making things up. The only thing I can say about it is it’s not true.”

“We just want to turn things around and that’s the main focus for everyone. If reports say guys don’t care anymore it’s just frustrating for our guys” Van De Ven said.
