Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta was delighted with the performance of his team particularly midfielder Eberechi Eze who starred in the Gunners win over Bayer Leverkusen with a fine goal.
The England international scored in the 36th minute in Arsenal’s 2-0 win over the German side in the second leg of the round of 16 stage tie to progress to the quarterfinals via a 3-1 aggregate win.
Speaking at a presser after the game, Mikel Arteta spoke glowingly about the former Crystal Palace man who joined Arsenal this past offseason.
“Their keeper kept them in the game and we needed a magical moment from Ebs [Eberechi Eze] to give us the lead. Ebs is playing every three days, he has rhythm, has an understanding with the players and this [the goal] is why he is here.”

“He is building an understanding with all of them and when you start to make key moments in games that lifts your confidence” he said.

Teammate Declan Rice who socred Arsenal’s second goal in the win, in an interview with TNT Sports, was equally effusive of Eberechi Eze’s fine goal by stating, “There aren’t many players that I’ve seen that can hit the ball like him. We need to get him on the ball more.”
