Manchester City ran riot against Liverpool at the Etihad Stadium, cruising to a 4‑0 victory in the FA Cup quarter-finals, powered by a sensational Erling Haaland hat-trick and a strike from Antoine Semenyo.

City took control early, with Haaland opening the scoring from a penalty in the 39th minute, before doubling the lead just before half-time with a clinical finish. The Norwegian striker then completed his hat-trick in the 57th minute, while Semenyo added City’s fourth goal shortly after, leaving Liverpool stunned.

The match was closely contested in possession, with Liverpool edging 51% against City’s 49%, but City dominated key moments. They registered 7 shots on target compared to Liverpool’s 5, while both teams had 2 shots off target. City’s attack also forced 3 blocked shots from Liverpool.

Set-pieces were another advantage for the home side, with City earning 4 corner kicks to Liverpool’s 2, and they made fewer defensive errors, committing 15 fouls against Liverpool’s 10. Both teams had 3 yellow cards each, and Liverpool had slightly more throw-ins (18) compared to City’s 11.

In goalkeeping stats, City’s keeper James Trafford made 5 saves, while Liverpool’s keeper Giorgi Mamardashvili managed 3, reflecting City’s attacking threat. Crosses were limited overall, with City attempting 2 and Liverpool 6, and goal kicks favoured City 8–4, highlighting their ability to maintain pressure.

With this commanding win, Manchester City advances to the semi-finals, while Liverpool faces a challenging period in their domestic campaign. Haaland’s brilliance once again proved decisive, as City continue their FA Cup march with confidence.
