Former Ghana Football Association (GFA) presidential aspirant Amanda Clinton has endorsed Fernando Santos as her preferred candidate for the Black Stars head coach job.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Citi Sports, she backed the experienced Portuguese tactician as the search for a new national team coach continues following the dismissal of Otto Addo.
Santos is among three Portuguese coaches reportedly shortlisted for the role, with the appointment expected to be announced by Monday, April 13, according to Sports Minister Kofi Adams.
Clinton believes the former FC Porto, Beşiktaş J.K., and Portugal boss is the most suitable option to lead the Black Stars forward.

“The Black Stars will do very well if we get a good coach like Santos who led Portugal to great success so if we get a good coach and excellent people on the team,…of course we can win” she said.

After winning the Portuguese League title with FC Porto, Santos led Portugal to win the 2016 European Championship and the UEFA Nations League.
