Ghana forward Brandon Thomas-Asante will play in the Premier League next season after Coventry City secured promotion, ending a 25-year absence from England’s top flight.

Coventry confirmed their return with a 1–1 draw against Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park, a result that sealed their place among the elite under manager Frank Lampard.

Blackburn took the lead in the 54th minute through Ryoya Morishita, but Coventry responded late when Bobby Thomas headed home in the 84th minute to secure the crucial point.

Coventry dominated possession with over 65 per cent of the ball and registered more attempts, underlining their control despite the narrow scoreline. The visitors pushed for an equaliser in the closing stages, with Thomas-Asante introduced in the 71st minute as part of Lampard’s attacking changes.

The 25-year-old Black Stars player has played a supporting role in Coventry’s promotion campaign in the Championship, contributing with key appearances in attack. While not always a regular starter, his involvement has added depth to a forward line that has been among the most productive in the division.

Coventry’s promotion caps a strong league campaign built on consistency, with the club recording over 20 wins and maintaining one of the best attacking records in the Championship.

For Thomas-Asante, the achievement marks a significant milestone, as he prepares for his first experience in the Premier League, offering him a platform to establish himself at the highest level of English football.
