The South African tactician was reported as one of the top names in line to replace Otto Addo as head coach of the Black Stars following Addo’s dismissal.

However, former Real Madrid head coach Carlos Queiroz was appointed as the Black Stars and was unveiled to Ghanaians on Thursday, April 23.

Speaking in an interview on Radio 947, the former CAF Champions League winner with Egyptian side Al-Ahly indicated that no major offer was made by Ghana.

“I guess there was a little bit a talk. When I asked the office, the office said there is a talk. Concrete (talk) is when the letter came to say…can we have a conversation over this?”

“A call from a Ghana official for me is not really serious talk” he said.

Queiroz signed a four-month contract and will lead Ghana to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
