Despite playing limited minutes for FC Barcelona in the 2025-2026 season, midfielder Gavi has been included in Spain’s National Men’s Football Team that will compete in the 2026 FIFA World Cup. (Scroll down to view full list)
The Spanish squad was named earlier on Monday, May 25 by Spain head coach Luis De La Fuente with the reigning European Champions heading into this year’s tournament as one of the heavy favourites to win the title.
The Spanish midfielder was delighted with his inclusion as he was captured jumping happily by teammate Lamine Yamal. Spain have been drawn in Group H with Saudi Arabia, Cape Verde and Uruguay. (Scroll down to watch video)
Due to a medial meniscus injury he picked up two games into the just ended campaign, the 21 year old missed a significant chunk of the campaign and only featured in 11 league games and registered an assist.

Gavi was part of the Barcelona team that won the Spanish La Liga title this season. However, Real Madrid defenders Dani Carvajal and Dean Huijsen did not make the cut.
