Union Berlin defender Arthur Kohn has stated that he will be supporting the Black Stars campaign at the 2026 FIFA World Cup despite not making the 26 man squad that will represent the country in this year’s competition.

Ghana’s squad was announced on June 1 ahead of an international friendly tie against Wales on Tuesday, June 2 in Cardiff.

Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club goalkeeper Benjamin Asare was the only Ghana Premier League player who made the cut. (Scroll down to view the full list)

Kohn was a surprise omission from the squad after excelling in the German Bundesliga with Berlin and having solid outings in friendlies against Austria and Germany in March.

However, issues related to his incomplete nationality switch from Germany to Ghana played a role in his omission that led to an angry outburst from his uncle who blasted Ghana Football Association (GFA) over issue. (Click highlighted text to read full story)

“Wishing my teammates and all Ghanaian fans a successful World Cup. I will be supporting the team and wishing the boys all the best” Kohn said.
