The Black Stars have confirmed their squad numbers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with captain Jordan Ayew retaining his iconic number 9 shirt and goalkeeper Lawrence Ati-Zigi taking the prestigious number 1 jersey.
The squad numbers reveal a blend of continuity and fresh responsibility as Ghana prepares for its fifth appearance at football’s biggest tournament.
One of the most notable assignments sees Brandon Thomas-Asante handed the famous number 10 shirt, while attacking forward Antoine Semenyo will wear number 11.
In the goalkeeping department, Joseph Anang has been assigned number 12, while Benjamin Asare takes number 16.

Midfield general Thomas Partey keeps his familiar number 5 jersey, while defenders Gideon Mensah and Baba Abdul Rahman will wear numbers 14 and 17 respectively.
New call-up Derrick Luckassen has been handed number 23 after replacing the injured Alexander Djiku in the squad.
Meanwhile, Kwasi Sibo will wear number 8, while rising midfielder Caleb Yirenkyi takes number 3.
The announcement comes as Ghana enters the final phase of preparations for the tournament in North America.

Carlos Queiroz’s side will begin their Group L campaign against Panama in Toronto on June 17 before facing England in Boston on June 23. The Black Stars will conclude the group stage against Croatia in Philadelphia on June 27.
