Spanish La Liga side Real Madrid has officially signed Spanish left back Marc Cucurella on a six year deal from English Premier League side Chelsea FC.
The move was confirmed on Monday, June 15 by Real Madrid after reports surfaced of the club’s interest in the former Brighton and Hove Albion player.
“Real Madrid C. F. and Chelsea FC have reached an agreement for the transfer of the player Marc Cucurella, who will be linked to our club for the next six seasons, until June 30, 2032” the club stated.
In the wake of Jose Mourinho’s return to Real Madrid as head coach for the second time, the club has focused on improving its defensive line.

Due to injuries and exit of veterans Dani Carvajal and David Alaba this offseason, the record La Liga champions are prioritizing boosting its defense.
Aside Cucurella, the club has set its sight reportedly on signing defenders Ibrahima Konate and Denzel Dumfries.
