Black Stars defender Jerome Opoku says the team’s win over Panama was amazing and wants the team to carry the feeling from that game into its next one against England.
Ghana beat Panama 1-0 in its opening game thanks to a late goal from Caleb Yirenkyi and are scheduled to take on England on June 23. England beat Croatia 4-2 to lead Group L.
The win over Panama was Ghana’s second game under head coach Carlos Queiroz who was recently appointed and Opoku highlighted Ghana’s quality as the team prepares for the English challenge.
“Obviously we know that they [England]’ve got great players, great qualities but I think as a group we know our qualities too so this is another game for us and we need to just give our full fight like we did [against] Panama.”

“It was amazing-to beat Panama- so now we just want to take this into the next game and build on it. For me, the most important thing is to go into every game looking for the three points” Opoku said.
