The Police officer captured in a viral video in an altercation with members of Egypt’s National Men’s Football Team’s entourage at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, has been removed from the team’s hotel according to reports reaching Citi Sports. [Scroll down to watch video]
The altercation took place in the lead up to Egypt’s round of 32 stage game at the ongoing World Cup game against Australia on Friday, July 3 at 18:00 GMT.
The Police officer was spotted preventing Ibrahim Hassan-Egypt’s Team Manager-from taking a photograph with a young fan which led to a verbal exchange that escalated to a brief physical skirmish.
Other members of Egypt’s entourage including forward Mahmoud “Trezeguet” Ibrahim Hassan stepped in to de-escalate the situation that had the Dallas Police officer spotted reaching for his handcuff in the heated moments of the confrontation.
Ibrahim Hassan, a former Egypt international, is the brother of Egypt’s head coach Hossam Hassan.
US Police sparked a confrontation with Egypt’s national team as they posed with fans at their hotel in Dallas. The incident happened ahead of Egypt’s Round of 16 match against Australia.
