Jordan Henderson suffered a wrist injury that England manager Thomas Tuchel has described as “quite serious” as the Three Lions progressed to the 2026 FIFA World Cup quarterfinals. (Scroll down to watch video)

England beat co-host Mexico 3-2 with Jude Bellingham scoring twice in the win that had Jarrell Quansah dismissed over a rash tackle made in the 54th minute.

While celebrating England’s win, the Brentford player landed awkwardly after tripping over an advertising board close to the pitch.

He stayed down clutching his wrist after the fall and was taken off the pitch in a stretcher and later the hospital. Speaking in a post-game presser, Thomas Tuchel said to the BBC that,

“Jordan [Henderson] just fell over and injured his wrist. It looks really bad.”

“It’s a quite serious injury and it doesn’t fit to the evening that Jordan is now not with us. The doctor told me he is in hospital.”
