France head coach Didier Deschamps says France captain Kylian Mbappe is ready to compete against Spain in the 2026 FIFA World Cup semifinals despite having injury concerns.
Mbappe was substituted in France’s 2-0 win over Morocco in the quarterfinals due to an ankle injury that had him ice it out on the bench.
The Real Madrid player also didn’t complete a training session that was open to the public raising further concerns about his availability for the big clash on Tuesday, July 14.
However, Deschamps dispelled such concerns by indicating that Mbappe is primed to play in the game as France aims to make it to a third World Cup final appearance in a row.
“Kylian [Mbappe] feels good. He is at 100%, we cannot go above. He trained” Deschamps said.

He also spoke about Mbappe’s limited training session that was open to the public by stating,
“He is allowed to do 10 minutes in one drill instead of 15”.

The 27 year old has eight goals and three assists in six games in the tournament.
