France National Men’s Football Team head coach Didier Deschamps says his team’s upcoming game against Spain will be a spectacular one.
He said this ahead of the semifinal clash at the 2026 FIFA World Cup between the two nations on Tuesday, July 14.
The clash features two of the best teams in the world and some of the best players who have clashed at the semifinals at the 2024 European Championship and 2025 UEFA Nations League.
Spain emerged winners in the aforementioned games and Didier Deschamps believes the latest clash between the two nations will be a big one.
“They can attack and defend very well. They only conceded one goal.”

“Luis and myself, we know how to defend well, but with the quality of the two teams offensively we could think it is going to be a spectacular game” Deschamps said.

Ahead of the game, concerns have been raised over the ankle injury to France captain Kylian Mbappe who didn’t complete training on Monday, July 13.

The Real Madrid player has eight goals and three assists in six games in the tournament.
