The battle for places in Ghana’s top flight will resume in September, with 48 clubs set to embark on the 2026/27 Access Bank Division One League campaign.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is scheduled to unveil the fixtures for the new season on Tuesday, August 18, giving clubs their first look at the road ahead.
The campaign is expected to begin between September 18 and 21, 2026, with the season running through to May 24, 2027.
The 48 participating clubs will be spread across three zones, although Zone One will operate in two separate sections.
Zone 1A and Zone 1B will each contain eight teams, while Zone Two and Zone Three will have 16 clubs apiece.
The competition will span 30 match weekends, with the ultimate prize being a place in the Ghana Premier League.
For several clubs, the new campaign represents another opportunity to move closer to the country’s top tier, while those who have recently dropped into the second tier will be hoping for an immediate return.
Clubs will now have the opportunity to map out their campaigns, assess their opening assignments and fine-tune preparations ahead of the September kick-off.
