Manchester City defender Ruben Dias says the team is already looking ahead to the new English Premier League season after their 3-0 defeat to Arsenal in the 2026 Community Shield.
Kai Havertz, Riccardo Calafiori and Martin Odegaard scored as Arsenal secured a convincing win in the traditional curtain raiser.
The match was also Manchester City manager Enzo Maresca’s first official game in charge of the club. Despite the defeat and missing out on the first trophy of the season, Dias says City remain focused on the campaign ahead.
“The most important is that we’re already looking forward. We’ll be ready for the next game. I joined [pre-season] midway. This is the third game since I’ve been back.”

“The feeling has been good. Today it’s frustrating. It was a final and we obviously wanted to win it. If there is a lesson then let it be this one because there’s a lot more coming.”

Man City open the new season with a tie against AFC Bournemouth on Sunday, August 23.
