Aryna Sabalenka’s quest to win a title since winning Indian Wells in March continues after getting knocked out of the 2026 Cincinnati Open.
The World Number One ranked player in women’s tennis suffered a 6-7, 6-4 loss in the fourth round of the competition to miss out on progressing to the quarterfinals.
In both sets, Sabalenka held a significant lead after being up 5-1 in the first set and being up 4-1 in the second set before losing both sets.
20 year old Czech player Bejlek delivered the big shock as Sabalenka prepares to compete in the US Open as the defending champion and stated that holding on to her belief got her the win.
“I totally lost my words. I just keep believing and that was the key today.”

“She played amazing tennis and I was just believing, keep fighting and I was just trying my best and that’s it” she said.

Sara Bejlek takes on Madison Keys in the quarterfinals on Friday, August 21.
