The draw for the preliminary round of games in the Inter Continental Playoffs for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup has been set.
Ghana’s Black Queens have been drawn to play against Ecuador, Uzbekistan and Papua New Guinea in the first phase of the qualification process.
The top two ranked nations at the end of the round robin format of games progress to the second and final phase where they take on two representatives from CONCACAF, a UEFA representative and Venezuela-CONMEBOL’s representative.
The final phase of games will be played in a single eliminator format where the three winning sides qualify to the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Ghana is aiming to qualify to the World Cup for the first time since 2007 and missed out on an automatic qualification to the event after failing to make it to the semis at the 2027 WAFCON.
