Arsenal came from a goal down to beat Chelsea 2-1 at the Emirates Stadium and maintain their perfect start to the Premier League season.
Chelsea made a dream start when Morgan Rogers put the visitors ahead in the second minute.
Arsenal thought they had equalised through Riccardo Calafiori, but the goal was ruled out following a VAR review. The hosts eventually found their breakthrough in the 25th minute when Kai Havertz produced a superb solo finish to level the contest.
Chelsea threatened again before the interval, with Neto’s effort striking the outside of the post as the sides went into half-time level at 1-1.
Arsenal started the second half strongly and completed the comeback in the 50th minute.
Captain Martin Ødegaard finished a slick team move, combining with Tzolis and Havertz before firing past Chelsea goalkeeper Martinez to put the champions 2-1 ahead.
The Gunners controlled much of the second half, recording 88 per cent possession around the hour mark as Chelsea struggled to regain momentum.
Chelsea pushed for an equaliser late on, with substitute Estevao forcing a save from David Raya in the 89th minute. Arsenal held firm through four minutes of added time to secure the victory.
The result extends Arsenal’s winning run to three matches and keeps them second in the Premier League with nine points from three games, while Chelsea remain fourth on six points.
