Germany head coach Jurgen Klopp believes everyone at Liverpool should be pleased with Florian Wirtz’s performance against Serbia.
Wirtz scored and provided an assist as Germany secured a 2-0 win over Serbia in the UEFA Nations League, giving Klopp his first victory since taking charge of the national team.
Germany had previously drawn 2-2 with the Netherlands and lost 1-0 at home to Greece under Klopp. The result ended Germany’s winless start and marked Klopp’s first win since succeeding as head coach following the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Klopp, who spent nine years as Liverpool manager, was particularly pleased with Wirtz’s contribution after the midfielder came under scrutiny following his move to Liverpool ahead of the 2024/25 season.
“He was bursting with joy and worked incredibly hard. That was exceptional; he played a fantastic game. Our style of play suits Flo Wirtz.”

“I don’t even know what Flo has to do right to make everyone happy. Everyone in Liverpool should be happy today” Klopp said.

In the 2026-2027 season, Wirtz has registered just an assists in six games in all competitions.
