Major League Soccer Commissioner Don Garber says he would like to see England captain Harry Kane play in the United States before the striker retires.
Garber’s comments come after Kane expressed his desire to eventually move to the US, where he hopes to play in MLS and pursue his interest in American football after ending his soccer career.
Kane remains contracted to Bayern Munich and is coming off a standout 2025/26 season, scoring 73 goals as he helped the club win the German Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal.
He also finished the 2026 FIFA World Cup with a bronze medal with England and is among the leading contenders for the 2026 Ballon d’Or.
“I’d love for him to do that-come over to the MLS-. I think, for me, it is the fulfilment of the dream that we had to build a proper soccer league that would drive a soccer nation.”

“We wanted to create something that would have the Harry Kanes of the world say ‘I’d kind of like to play in MLS.’ And I think Messi proved that” Garber said.
