Ghanaian swimmer Tamba Akin Boamah has set a new national record, surpassing the previous mark of 30.34 seconds held by fellow Olympian Harry Stacey.

The 15-year-old is regarded as one of Ghana’s promising young swimming talents and serves as captain of the country’s junior national team.

The reported achievement adds to an impressive run of performances for Boamah, who enjoyed a successful outing at the 2025 African Aquatics Zone 2 Championships.

He collected seven medals across individual and relay events, further underlining his potential on the continental stage.

Boamah’s progress has attracted attention within Ghana’s swimming fraternity, with his latest reported milestone representing another step in his development.

Stacey, meanwhile, established the previous 30.34-second mark during his impressive campaign at the 2024 Africa Aquatics Zone 2 Swimming Championships in Accra, where he won six gold medals.
