The Chairman of the Local Organising Committee (LOC) of the 2023 African Games, Dr Kwaku Ofosu-Asare, has announced that 12 disciplines at the upcoming Africa Games will serve as qualifiers for the 2024 Olympics in Paris.
The announcement was made at a press conference on Tuesday night to announce the new date for the games.
The events are:
- Badminton
- Basketball 3×3
- Beach Volleyball
- Cycling
- Gymnastics
- Judo
- Swimming
- Tennis
- Table Tennis
- Triathlon
- Volleyball
- Wrestling
The Africa Games were set to be held in August this year but a series of infrastructural and administrative delays mean the games have been postponed to March next year.
The Games are set to start on the 8th of March and end about two weeks later.
