Ghanaian-British international Power Forward Matthew Bryan-Amaning helped AS Douanes progress to the playoffs.

AS Douanes power forward, Matthew Bryan-Amaning, believes Ghana has the right talents to do well in basketball as long as the country gets the right infrastructure in place.

He said this in a chat with Citi Sports after helping Senegalese side Douanes progress to the Basketball Africa League (BAL) playoffs for the first time in the NBA-FIBA Africa competition.

Bryan-Amaning is eligible to represent Ghana internationally despite doing so for the Great Britain previously and has declared his readiness to play for the West African nation.

The teammate of two time NBA All Star Isaiah Thomas at the University of Washington went on to state Ghana had the right talents to succeed internationally but needed to sort out the infrastructural challenge.

“I feel like in Ghana, we have players of Ghanaian descent playing all over the world. We have the talents but it’s about kind of focusing all that talent and getting it in one place. I feel like if we have the right infrastructure, we have the right teams and we have the right and the talents to be able to do well.”

In his 10-year career, Bryan-Amaning has played professionally in Turkey, Argentina, France and Germany.
