Bofoakwa Tano have secured their return to the Ghana Premier League with a thrilling 7-6 penalty shoot-out victory over Techiman Eleven Wonders in the Division One League Zone One playoff final.
Their qualification marks a significant achievement for the club, which had suffered relegation after the 2006/2007 campaign.
The match, held at the Accra Sports Stadium on Tuesday, ended in a 1-1 draw after regular time.
Goalkeeper Emmanuel Kobi emerged as the hero for Bofoakwa Tano, making a crucial save from Eleven Wonders’ captain in sudden death.

The Sunyani-based club took an early lead in the first half through Leslie Aryeetey’s penalty in the 7th minute.
However, Zakaria Osman equalized for Eleven Wonders in the 47th minute, forcing the game into a tense second half.
Bofoakwa Tano fought back strongly, but had two goals disallowed for offside.
With the score deadlocked at 1-1 after normal time, neither team managed to find the net during the extra 30 minutes of play.
The match ultimately came down to a nerve-wracking penalty shoot-out, where Bofoakwa Tano kept their composure and emerged victorious.
As a result of their triumph, Bofoakwa Tano will compete in the BetPawa Premier League next season alongside Zone 2 and Zone 3 champions, Nations FC and Hearts of Lions.
