Ghanaian forward, Mubarak Alhassan, has expressed his commitment to the national course by voicing his readiness to honour an invitation from Ghana’s National Under-23 Men’s Football Team, the Black Meteors.
The Albacete player said this in an exclusive interview with Citi Sports in the lead-up to Albacete’s semifinal clash against Levante on Saturday, June 3 in the Spanish Segunda.
Ghana has been drawn in Group A with 2023 AFCON Under 23 host Morocco, Guinea and Congo with the tournament running from June 24 to July 8, 2023.
While an injury spell meant the former Liberty Professionals player missed out on playing in the qualifiers, Alhassan has recovered and is ready to play a role in the Meteors’ quest for a place at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
“I am ready whenever my country calls I’ve got no option because I am always ready to play for the national team. I am ready (for the national team) whenever I am called.”
The top three teams at the AFCON qualify for next year’s Olympics.
