Brong- Ahafo Regional Football Association Chairman, Ralphael Gyambrah, has expressed his disaffection over the association of hooliganism to the region.
He said this in his address at a press soiree for the All-Star Festival that takes place in Sunyani from June 20 to June 22.
The festival is a series of events that will be climaxed with a football match. Some Black Stars players including captain Andrew Ayew and Ajax star Kudus Mohammed are expected to be involved.
Gyambrah described the region as the “spiritual home of football” because it had four teams in the Betpawa Ghana League and was set to have a fifth team following Bofoakwa Tano’s qualification to the league.
He then went on to call for the disassociation of the region from hooliganism.
“We need to more to maintain all the five clubs in the region but beyond that we want to change the narrative. I feel bad… I think the All Star Festival is going to set the tone for us to change that narrative about the region.”
Aduana Stars, Bechem United, Nsoatreman FC and Berekum Chelsea represented in the 2022-2023 Betpawa Ghana Premier League season.
