Bibiani Gold Stars striker Abednego Tetteh says he is disappointed on missing out on the Black Stars squad that is set to take on Madagascar in the penultimate round of African Cup of Nations qualifiers on June 18, 2023.
Black Stars head coach Chris Houghton called 25 players that originally included Athetico Bilbao’s Inaki Williams.
However, Williams pulled out of the squad due to an injury he has been harboring for a while which he intends to treat in the off season.
Bechem United Hafiz Kokoni was ultimately called up to the squad as a late addition. Abednego Tetteh finished the season as the top scorer in the betPawa Premier league leading many to believe the striker was overlooked.
Speaking to Koforidua based radio station Bryt FM was honest about how he felt about his exclusion from the squad.
“As a human being it is only natural to feel bad about not being included. However there is nothing I can do but I wish them success in Madagascar. We will support them in their efforts to achieve a positive result” he said
Tetteh finished the 2022/2023 betPawa Premier league season with 18 goals.
