Former Kumasi Asante Kotoko striker, Mark Adu Amofah, has launched his non-profit sports organization called AA Sports International in Accra.
The event took place at the Alisa Hotel on Wednesday, 21st June 2023.
It focused on the theme of “Sports Equality for All Children,” emphasizing life after football and sports combined with education.
A.A Sports International prides itself as an organization with the core objective of changing lives through sports by providing equal grounds for all genders, irrespective of one’s background.
Amofah highlighted the importance of giving back to society and expressed his excitement about launching the organization, stating that more programs would be rolled out in the coming weeks.
“I have dreamed of this day. I have been wanting this for some time and finally, we have done it. It’s very important.
Going forward, you should expect more programmes from A. A Sports International.
Coming weeks, we will roll out some of the programme.” He said.
Mark Amofah, who featured for defunct Real Sportive, and Liberty Professionals, bid farewell to his football career in 2014 after having stints in South Africa, Thailand, Bahrain, and Israel.
The former Black Meteors player mentioned the charitable activities that have already been undertaken by his organization, such as donating equipment and kits to schools and teams.
“We have done a couple of charities and we are looking forward to doing more in the coming weeks.
We have donated a lot of equipment and kits to schools and teams. We are here to do more.”
The media launch was attended by various dignitaries, including former Ghana Football Association Vice President Fred Pappoe, GHALCA Chairman, Kudjoe Fianoo, and representatives from different football associations and clubs.
