Udinese starlet, Raymond Asante Anokye has backed the Black Meteors to qualify for the 2024 Olympic Games despite the defeat to Morocco in the U-23 AFCON.

The Black Meteors have three points from a possible six after winning against Congo and tasting a horrible 5-1 defeat to host nation, Morocco.

Ghana face a must-win encounter against Guinea in their last group A match to keep their dreams alive.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Citi Sports, Raymond Anokye said the team has shown great promise in the tournament and that will be enough to spur them on.

“Of course we can make it if you see the enthusiasm from the boys.

I will say my brothers I think we can make the mark we can qualify for the Olympics sure” he said.

The 19-year-old went on to praise his former teammate at Young Apostles, Emmanuel Yeboah who was instrumental in Ghana’s first game against Congo where he registered a brace and an assist for the Meteors.

“ You can see from the match between Ghana and Congo, you can see the impact he brought to the team coming for the bench.

You can see he’s a great player” he said.

“I think he is going to be the next Asamoah Gyan for Ghana” he added

Ghana currently sit 3rd in Group A with 3 points from two games.
