Dreams FC Administrative Manager, Ameenu Shardow, has stated that the club’s immediate target is to make it to the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup.
He said this in an exclusive interview on Citi FM’s Sports Panorama in the aftermath of Dreams’ progression to the second round of the continental competition.
Dreams beat Guinea side Milo FC 2-1 at the Accra Sports Stadium to qualify via a 3-2 aggregate win after drawing 1-1 in the away fixture.
“You can’t have everything (resources) but we’ve committed to play in this competition and we want to do well. For us the first target is to get to the group stage. Based on whatever happens, the group we find ourselves (in), we can re-strategize and see the next target but for us, the primary target is to get to the group stage.”
Dreams FC has been drawn against Sierra Leone’s FC Kallon in the second round with the first leg taking place on Friday, September 15.
The team lost 0-2 to Medeama SC in the Champion of Champions trophy; the contest is a match up between winner of the MTN FA Cup (Dreams) and the BetPawa Ghana Premier League (Medeama).
