Augustine Evans Adotey, head coach of Medeama Sporting Club, strongly believes his team won’t miss out on a win against Young Africans (Yanga) Sporting Club.
He delivered this strong stance in his pre game presser as the Mauve and Yellow prepares to play the Tanzanian team at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.
Medeama has a win and a loss in two games at the group stage in this season’s CAF Champions League while Yanga has just a point out of a possible six points in the lead up to the contest.
Despite Yanga’s slow start to life in the competition’s group stage, the team is regarded as one of Africa’s best teams and poses a real threat to Medeama’s qualification chances but coach Adotey is sticking with a win for his team.
“My mission tomorrow is to ensure victory and I don’t want to listen to the word “fail”. I will not fail. I am a winner. I want to win tomorrow and that is my mission. I am going to win tomorrow; that’s my message.”
Defending champion Al-Ahly of Egypt leads the group with four points after beating Medeama 3-0 and drawing with Yanga.
