Ghana’s Black Queens face Zambia’s Copper Queens in the third round of the 2024 Paris Olympic Qualifiers’ second leg this Wednesday at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium, Ndola.
Despite the loss in the first leg, where Rachael Kundananji, the most expensive player in women’s football, scored a stunning goal, Coach Nora Häuptle is optimistic about their chances and believes the qualification is still within reach.
“Unfortunately we couldn’t deliver or succeed against Zambia in the first leg, but we have the second leg against Zambia.”
“I think when we put one goal in, it will explode down there and then we back in April for the fourth round against Morocco and then I hope that the stadium [Accra Sports Stadium] here is cooking and we can get a sold-out stadium.”
The Black Queens are aiming to make it to the final round of the qualifiers despite losing 1:0 to the Copper Queens at the Accra Sports stadium on Friday as they need a resounding victory to secure a spot in the next round of the qualifiers.
The Black Queens have arrived in Ndola for the return fixture of the Paris 2024 Olympic qualifier against Zambia.

The team departed Accra on Friday evening via Kenya Airways and reached the Copper Provincial capital around noon on Saturday.
The team was received on arrival at the Simon Nwansa Kapwepwe airport by staff of the Ghana mission in Zambia.
